PC Boots but I can't get to the BIOS F2 or Diags F12
My laptop turns on and I can hear the fan, but the screen remains off'ish. I attached an external screen, no change. Also, the pc will keep cycling through sleep, on, sleep, on, etc - but the screen remains black or sleep black (know what I mean?). It used to boot to the screen that said "Your system seems to be having trouble starting. DellSupportAssist is scanning your hardware for a possible cause." It was scanning the hard drive. It eventually passed this test and now I can't do anything. I can't get into the BIOS, I can't get into the Diags (F12) - nothing since I let the scan run and pass. I have an Inspiron 14.

What I've done so far:
1. pulled the battery and the power cable and held the power button down for 20 seconds to dissipate any remaining power. Tried to power it back on with the power cord only, still no joy.
2. Tried F2 - can't get to BIOS. Although when it was still in the "scan" stage that I mentioned before - I could cancel the scan, power cycle and get to the BIOS. But now that I've let the scan complete (it was scanning the hard drive and passed the test) I can't get to the BIOS at all.
3. And I can't get F12 to the Diags.

Removed the cover of the laptop and reinserted the memory and the wireless card. Now I'm back to where I started at least where I get "Your system seems to be having trouble starting. Dell SupportAssist is scanning your
hardware for a possible cause. Testing eMMC Drive in Progress. Estimated Time Left 2min 2sec. " It beeps when it completes the test and says it found no hardware issues. I click "Continue" and blank screen. Hit F12 and nothing happened for about 1 minute and now I'm back to the "Your system seems to be having...." and the test on the eMMC drive is starting again.
