Storage

Table 1. Storage specifications.Form factor Interface type Capacity
One 9.5 mm DVD+/-RW drive (optional) SATA Not applicable
One 2.5-inch hard drive SATA Up to 2 TB
One 2.5-inch solid-state drive SATA Up to 256 GB

It looks like you have ONE drive bay in your system: Source: Dell inspiron 15 3567 HDD and SSD

I don't know why SSD it limited to 256GB . . .

It looks like you can use up to 2T SSD too: Source: can I upgrade my hard drive to SSD?

Welcome to the Dell Community @sonovdragons

Service manuals and specifications are a good reference but are not the limitation of the hardware.

4TB 7mm SSD's are now available but are still expensive. ( Around $400 )

Best regards,

So I can buy an 480 gb ssd and the service manual is something like a warning?

Thanks!

@sonovdragons

You will have no problem with a 480GB SSD.

Manuals indicate what was sold with the laptop/desktop.

Not what the upgrade possibilities are.

This part is 100% compatible with Inspiron 15 (3567)

Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5" 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:

Do you think any brand SSD will be fit for Dell Inspiron 15 3567 ?

I plan to use the following brand, it costs around US$80.

Verbatim 1TB Vi550 S3 SSD

Please advise and thanks so much!

@dellcsuh

2.5" laptop SSD's and HDD's outside dimension is 2.75" "Width"

And .28" = 7mm "Thickness" will fit just fine.

The platters of older HDD's are 2.5" and the industry just stuck with that???

And now SSD's that are actualy 2.75" are still refered to as 2.5" drives.

Are you all  aware that you can ditch the optical drive and run 2 hard drives/ssd that way? You need to install your OS on the SSD in the first SATA slot to get any speed increase out of it and the max RAM for this unit is 16GB DDR4 @2400mhz.There's a tin caddy you'll need that's around $8 eBay. Then you can get a $10 enclosure for the optical drive and another for your 1TB HDD if you'd like to have it portable... That's what I'm doing. Upgrading the RAM to the full 16GB, installing a 250GB Samsung 860 EVO SATA III SSD with a new Win 10 Pro install, 4TB Seagate FIRE SSHDD, new upgraded battery and fresh PCU fan plus the cd drive USB enclosure all for around $250 and a few hours of my time. Gonna be a beast laptop. I just picked up an upgraded 15-7000 series 7586 2 in 1 Holiday special after the holiday with 256GB PCIe SSD and 2 tb SSHDD, 32GB RAM Core i5 8265U, Win 10 Pro, and PN350M active stylus for $738 to play around with while I'm doing that. My 3567 is a good laptop but I've been using it dual purpose home and work and it's been through a lot so time to give it some love.
