adding a 2.5" HDD post purchase on the 7577

Hi,

My Inspiron 15 7577 has been shipped with the m.2 SSD only. I deliberately purchased it like this, since I planned to add my spare 2.5" HDD to the empty space.

When trying to install, I realized that the interface cable between the mobo port and the HDD SATA port, the bracket, screws, whatever else are all missing. See here:

I was not able to find the parts I need to buy to install my HDD. Can anyone please advise?

Regards,

Miklos

Have you tried calling Dell Spare Parts?

No, not yet. I was hoping to get an answer from someone in this community.

I'm in the EU btw, but thanks for the phone number anyway!

On a system this new, the only real source of parts will be Dell -- until a critical mass of systems hits the "used' or "totalled/salvage" market, the parts won't appear on EBay, or with the third party sellers.

I don't have any concerns buying the necessary part(s) directly from Dell or an authorized source. That's fine for me, in general I try to use original parts anyway.

My problem is that not even the service manual identifies that SATA interposer, hard drive bracket and screw part numbers that are needed for this upgrade.
