My Inspiron is under warranty and it stopped working. I sent it to the lab but 6 weeks later they sent it back still broken, saying it can't be fixed. Two days later someone from Dell called me and asked if I received a new computer. I said No, I did not. The man was very surprised and explained to me that Dell authorized replacing my laptop with a new one. He promised to get back to me, so I'm waiting. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Did you ship the system to an authorized dealer or to Dell Service center directly?

Service tag <Service tag removed> Computer was making a lot of noise, and basically stopped performing. I sent it to an authorized dealer I think, but can't be sure.
