How to enable non-root rights for setting ownership in OneFS7
Hi all,
By default setting ownership is only allowed for the root user. Customer would like to enable possibility that a group of users (admin-group) can set owenership.
How to accomplish this?

Are you trying have a group of users manage/create shares or manage the permissions of the files created under the shares?
In OneFS 7.0.2.x you have the ability for RBAC to allow users to be parts of various administrative functions. By default the version installed is the 7.0.1.x levels of code.
You can find the 7.0.2 admin guide posted @ support.emc.com and it contains many of the details around defining these roles.

Maybe RBAC gives possibilities for this, however my customer just wants the very simple functionality comparable to a classic Windows fileshare. With classic windows when giving Full permissions on an object to a user the user can also set object-ownership.
This seems to be blocked in the OneFS CIFS implmentation.
Customer found a kb article on how to enable non-root users to set ownership through NFS: https://support.emc.com/kb/88482
But this seems specific for NFS. Anything like this for CIFS?
