Mellanox IB switch serial number.
Hi All,
Is there a way of obtaining the serial number of an IB switch remotely? Can't see anything in the OneFS web interface or via the CLI.

EMC or Your EMC Partner should be able to see it on the Packing slips...and if you still have them somewhere your selves, all serial numbers are on there

Unfortunately there is not a way to get at the serial number of the IB switches from within OneFS today. I've had to do rack gymnastics with a mirror before to take a glance at the serial number.

Hi Millie,
The serial number is listed on a label on the switch. It might also be listed in the /var/log. I can't offer you the specific location, because it's internal use only. If you are EMC partner or EMCer, you can get more information in the page 6 of the document Isilon-Cluster-Relocation-Checklist.

Thanks for the responses.
Couldn't find anything in the log files relating to the serial number so actually had to go into the server room!
