Newbie Isilon Question - Report/Monitor Share Activity
Hi Guys, I inherited management of 2 existing Isilon Clusters and they are close to full. I know a lot of this data is old and is not being accessed anymore, but I need to prove it before I can delete it. What is the best way to report on or monitor activity by share or by directory so I can determine which shares have not been accessed in months/years and then hopefully delete them?

InsightIQ (IIQ) webui->FILE SYSTEM REPORTING->File System Analytics (FSA)
Is access time (atime) enabled on cluster? If yes you can use IIQ FSA to monitor access time. If not, then atime=mtime. You can then filter out for Access Time and Directory.

just make sure its not kept for some compliance reason, in which case is an archive ok ? If not, why not ? Because if someone insists on it being online, insist on it being on an archive node and look at the data moving down to the slower nodes.
As mentioned, this is plan C. plan A is delete.plan B is archive and then delete. Plan C is age data to archive nodes and retain online.
