600m Some special function keys not working.
Hi, one of my clients had to re-load his 600m. After reloading it and getting everything else working properly, we found that several 'special-function' keys do not work as they should.
Specifically, pressing Fn & F10 should eject the disk from the optical drive. There is no effect from this combination. Also, Fn & the F3 key should give battery level indication. No effect here either.
All other Fn and special keys work as they should...HELP!!!
What do we do to get these functions back??

BillTR,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
These "special functions" are controlled by the BIOS. I would recommend that you consider resetting or updating it to a newer version.

Well, THAT didn't work. He got the latest BIOS from the Dell web site and flashed it. Still the same thing. Any other suggestions anyone??

Thanks guys, that did the trick. Funny that the help line was no help with this problem. Oh well, all's well that ends well...thanks again for the help.
