8 beep sound

From my dell inspiron n 5010 8 beep sound is coming, it is a lcd problem as per ur table, but service centre says it is a vga chip problem and quoting for 10k. How to resolve lcd problem?

It COULD be an LCD problem.  Hold the D key through powerup - you should see an alternating series of solid color screens.  If you don't, there's a chance the LCD is bad.

If you do see this - and from the diagnosis you've received, it's likely -- it means the screen is OK and the mainboard may be bad. If the diagnosis did not include replacing the video cable, it too could be bad.

If it did, and it's the mainboard that's bad - given the age and low end nature of the system, you'd be better off replacing rather than repairing it.

In that case, start by replacing the display panel and wiring harness.  If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the mainboard as well.

For power + D button troubleshooting, i am unable to view screen. Only black scren appears
