8600m gt burn out on Inspiron 1720?

Hi,

Before sinking a bit more money into my machine I just wanted to see if the 8600m gt video cards in the Inspiron 1720s have been experiencing failure. I read online that most if not all of the 8600m's can burn out under the right conditions, so I wanted to find out if that would happen in the case of the 8600m in the 1720.

Have people experienced this? Is this something I should expect from my machine before too long, or is the cooling system so well designed in the 1720 that this isn't a concern?

Thanks!

Hi ctenormran,

The Dell Inspiron 1720 works fine with a 8600m GT video cards and there is no known heating issues with this computer.

I have had mine for about 4 years now and have had no problems with the video. Now that I said that I better be carefull since I have only 21 days left on warranty.
