Adamo XPS Extended Battery Inquiry - (40 WHr 12-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery)
Hoping to find some owners of the Dell Adamo XPS with some history with the above mentioned
extended battery. My questions are as follows:
1. How long should it take to fully charge a battery if it's completely discharged?
2. Is it true the battery needs to be charged and discharged fully at least three time to hold a full charge?
3. Has anyone found a third party who sells replacement batteries for these notebooks? So far I can
only find them on Dell's shop for $120 + tax & shipping
4. Does leaving the battery connected to the power brick for over the required time cause damage to the battery?
5. How much time on average do most users really get with the extended battery with practical use?
Appreciate all your valuable comments.

Here is a great DELL battery FAQ that you may find helpful

The charge time varies depending on the system. If the system supports ExpressChargeTM , the battery typically will have greater than 80% charge after about an hour of charging, and fully charge in about 2 hours with the system off.
You do not need to charge and discharge Lithion ION batteries several times to hold a full charge.
Leaving the battery in the system with the AC adapter attached doesn't damage the battery
