Audio and Cursor problems

Hi,

I am using Dell Inspiron 3520. Service Tag:  Service tag removed per privacy policy> Service Code: Express service code removed per privacy policy>

My audio is stopped all of sudden in the middle of playing audio file.

Even before, the audio output was too low!

The cursor also has a problem. It is not moving smoothly at times and clicks on links automatically. Kindly help!

Regards

Boni

Hi Boni,

You may try updating the latest audio and touchpad drivers.

Click on the link http://dell.to/QjjZDA -> Type the service tag of computer -> Select the operating system installed on computer -> Expand audio/input -> Cirrus Logic High Definition Audio/Dell Touchpad AXX -> Download/install the file and restart the computer when prompted.

I would request you not to share the Service Tag information on open forum as it is considered personal information.

If the issue persists, please share the operating system installed on your computer.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the information if you have any further questions.

Hi Sundeep,

Thanks. The touch pad issue seems to have been solved as I sense a rapid movement is cursor after the installation. However, the audio problem is still there. But before and after installing, the head phones are working fine. I am using Windows 7 32 bit.

Hi Boni,

I am replying on behalf of DELL-Sundeep B. In order to assist you further, I would need some more information.

Are you using external speakers or internal speakers?
Since when are you facing this issue?
Did you try to change the audio settings on the computer?

i would suggest you to run the Fixit from the following link http://bit.ly/JvQScV

Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi,

I was earlier using Dell Inspiron 1525. I started using this inspiron 3520 since Dec 2012. Right from the first day, I felt the audio output of 3520 is not as high as the 1525.

Couple of days, when I was paying an audio file, the sound output stopped all of a sudden. Only then I wrote to you. I am not using any external speakers. I'm using the one with the laptop. I tried to change the audio settings once as I felt the output is not as good as 1525. But that long before this problem started. I ran the Fixit, which said that there is no problem

The problem is still not resolved, even after running the Fixit.

Hi Boni,

Thank you for the response. The sound output may vary from system to system due to different hardware configuration.

Since the headphones are working fine, You may try to update the BIOS of the computer. Here is the link http://dell.to/ZqMfqa

Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that:
*Battery is 10%> or >10% charged
*Battery charger should be connected
*No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
*All other programs should be closed and documents saved

If the issue persists, you may try to perform PC restore. Please refer to the following link http://dell.to/Wj1rZe
Note: This step leads to complete data loss including pictures, music files, videos, documents and applications. Please disconnect any external peripherals as well.

Please reply if you have any questions.
