Audio clips after reinstalling XP media center on Inspiron 1505

Hi all.  I recently reformat my Dell Inspiron 1505 and reinstalled Windows XP media center SP3.  I reinstalled the chipset and SigmalTel STAC92XX driver.  Whenever I play music, like WMA, on any music player or view Youtube, the audio will clip once in while.  The audio clipping is not loud or long, it is just very annoying.  It didn't occur before I reformatted the machine.  It happens on audio playback on laptop or headphone.  I suspect that it is more than just the SigmalTel driver.  I also installed Dell Notebook System Software.  I also have the Philip DVD-ROM drive.  Any help to fix audio clipping would be really appreciated.

The thread Choppy/Skipping Audio Workarounds has various tips about noise. You might find something helpful.
