BIOS Update
Hello
I want to upgrade the BIOS on my Inspiron 1545 to the latest version, which is running Windows 8.1 Update 1. However, I know that Dell has stopped making updates and drivers for this laptop on windows 8. The latest version that I can get updates for is Windows 7.

I was wondering, if I download the latest BIOS update for Windows 7 on Windows 8.1 Update 1, will it still work?
Will it just break my laptop, or would it work?
I have opened the file, and there is a tick in the box, saying do you want to start the update.

Thanks for the reply. I have watched the 99 second tech video. I already know how to do it.
I am upgrading from A13 to A14
My actual question is will the update program that is designed to work on Windows 7 work properly, on Windows 8.1 Update 1?

Ideally bios update can be done without any issues. What is the model of your laptop? You can follow this link http://dell.to/1benN1l for steps on how to update bios.

It should not affect on windows 8. You can do the bios update.
