Battery Not Working

Okay, so recently my battery has been behaving quite weird. First I noticed that it stopped charging around 84%, now it has stopped charging at 67% and it is telling me that my battery has experienced permanent failure and should be replaced. I'm not sure if it is relevant but I have very recently installed windows updates, around the time where my battery started being weird. Not exactly sure which updates, I simply went to the windows update page and checked for updates and updated the computer. Please help me, I would like to try and fix this without having to buy a new battery. The computer model is a Dell Inspiron 15r (model 5521). Thank you.

Hi,

Battery is a consumable product and the life of a battery depends upon the usage. The battery life span can range between 2 - 3 years depending upon the usage. I would suggest you to run a thorough test on the battery. You can download Support assist from the link below and run the PC CHECKUP on Battery to check for issues

Please let me know the findings.
