Bios Password

I have a inspiron 600m, i just bought it from someone and when i start it up it is asking for the primary or administrator password to boot up.  i cannot get to the bios to try to reset it.  how can i remove this password.  i have removed the cmos battery for 2 days now and still has the password.  please help.

Dell desktops have a CMOS clear jumper.

Dell laptops keep the passwords in flash memory, so there is no jumper and removing the CMOS battery will have no effect.

The 2 options you have require the previous owner.

1. Contact the person you purchased the laptop from to see if they have the password.

2. Only the registered owner can contact Dell and request a "Master" Password, which will override the BIOS Password.
