Black line across screen on Dell Latitude E6430

I have been using Dell Latitude E6420 from 2 months. Everything was working fine. Suddenly, black line on top of screen came and not going back. I tried to to take screen shot of that line but it doesn't come in screen shot. Can anybody tell me how can i get rid of that line?

FYI: I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and i suspend my laptop for hours.

Hi,

Can you connect an external monitor to this latitude and check if the line appears on the monitor too?

Also run a hardware diagnostics to confirm there are no part failures, Please check if you see the line even in diagnostics.

To enter diagnostics, Keep tapping F12 on the startup Dell logo that comes as soon you press the power button.

Select "Diagnostics" from the list, Run it completely and let us know if it passes, Else please reply with the Error message and validation code, we shall take it further.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I am able to test it with the external monitor as i don't have it yet.

But I performed diagnostics check and the test was successful. I got no error or validation code.

Can we take this to further?

Enter system setup (f2 at powerup). Do you see the fault on the setup screen?

Yes, i can see the the same line (fault) on the setup screen.

And this line is like moving slowly to both directions left and right from the center.

Just like:
