I want to update my Dell n5110 inspiron it is i3-2350m. Could you please tell me what highest processor I can upgrade to?

That would be the i7-2670QM, but check your power adapter - if it's 65 or 90W, you'll also need a new power adapter (130W or better) to run a quad-core. You'll also see the battery drain appreciably faster with an i7Q than with the i3.

The other reply is very good.
There is another way that is quite fun.
Go to Dell.com and select products then laptops.
Enter your model and there will be 3-4 computers listed with pre-installed hardware.
The one on the left will usually state "customize" and select that one.
Now when you reach CPU you will see the choices.
BEWARE in that your system board may not accept your desired processor as it depends on how you ordered the system.
I do it frequently because it is fun and educational.
I did customize a T 7910 Precision Work Station up to $24,000 and could have gone higher!
