We have a lot of Dell Latitude D600s and are now getting D610s in our company, all with the CPort II port replicator. One of the laptops is connected to an HP LaserJet 3030, which is an OfficeJet without the telephony bits, that will blue screen Windows XP Pro if the USB cable is plugged into the CPort II but not if plugged directly to the D600.
We have reports from our sales reps out in the field stating similar results from other USB printing devices plugged directly into the USB ports on the CPort II port replicator.
We just ran into another issue where a Dell USB keyboard will not work through an IOGear USB KVM through the CPort II but will work just fine plugged directly into the USB ports on the back of the laptop. The other computer in this situation is an Optiplex GX620 which does not have any PS2 ports on it and this one works fine. This was the reason for going with the USB KVM as opposed to a PS2 KVM.
IS THERE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE USB PORTS ON THE CPORT II REPLICATORS???
