Can I get a backlit keyboard
Hi there,
I have an Inspiron 15R 5520 without a backlit keyboard. I've had it for about a year and a half, but I'm really regretting not getting a laptop with a backlit keyboard. Being a college student, it would be really helpful while typing my essays at 3 in the morning. I'm not ready for a new computer, as this one works just fine.
So my question is, is there a way to put in a new keyboard that is backlit? And if so, how would I go about this? Order the parts and find an independent contractor, or send it into Dell? Thanks for your help.

No a backlit KB cannot be retrofitted. You must order it when purchasing a new computer.

But I've seen in forums on other dell laptop series that it's possible.

one alternative is a usb mini lamp...beats typing in the dark and does not disturb others
