Can not connect to the internet- missing driver PCI Modem

I was given a Inspiron 600m by a relative recently.  They wiped the hard drive clean and installed Windows XP Professional SP2, but afterwards they could not connect to the internet.  When I reboot the found new hardware bubble pops up about the "PCI Modem" and I have downloaded the drivers from the support site, but it still seems not to be able to find the driver.  It detects wireless, but won't connect to wireless either. Can someone help me please?

There is a required sequence of installing drivers. The first driver to be installed after the install of the operating system is the chipset driver. Following that would be video.
