Can't get Laptop Inspiron 1501to come on

having problem.  each time I turn on my laptop, it goes straight to Windows Error Recovery screen giving me 4 options.  I've chosen each option including Start Windows normally & each option brings me to "Blue Screen" with the following info--Registry Failure '''system crash" collecting data from dump..

I've also tried installing my Windows installation disc but can't get it open on the laptop.  Any help???

Press F12 at powerup, boot to the Dell diagnostics and run an extended test on the hard drive - which you likely will find has failed.

If the hard drive fails, you'll need a new, 2.5" 9.5 mm or slimmer SATA notebook drive.

Thanks..booting done..but message back was "No diagnostics issues"..Press Ok to boot system...which I did then got same Windows Error Recovery issue..But if nothing else, I guess your previous post back about "new 2.5" 9.5 mm or slimmer SATA notebook drive" may be the answer...Thanks
