Can't install network wifi drivers - Inspiron 17 5748
There are two variants of drivers :
Dell Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver and
Dell Wireless 1705 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver
the 1704 installs ok but the 1705 reports an error and doesn't install at all. Normally should they install both? Each of them does a different thing ? Why are there two drivers for same thing? Thanks !

You should never install a driver for the wrong hardware device. You wireless adapter is either model 1705 or 1704--not both. That is not the driver number. Open Device Manager and see exactly which one you have. Obviously it is 1704.

Thanks Mary ! But why they don't specify this anywhere ? Should we know this by default ?
