You should be able to get the driver on if you open the files it extracted to your HDD, Find out where it created the file (ex.) C:\Dell\Drivers\XXXXX (XXXXX being the file) find the installer file .exe and run it.

Hi Manu Shandilya,

Please let us know the diagnostics results of the Card reader. Also, you can downloadand install MyDell from the link below and run the PC CHECKUP to check for any issues with the card reader on the system.

Hi Manu Shandilya,

I would suggest you to insert a memory card with data in it and run the diagnostics on the memory card.

Dear Mr. Ravi

I did that already, but failed, I do not want to waste too much of

your time, so please tell me all the remedies together, (i.e. first

do this, if failed do this and so on )

I will do everything one by one, I hope you understand.

Hi Manu Shandilya,

I’d suggest that you update BIOS, chipset and card reader driver on your computer to check for issue resolution.

Please enter your service tag # on the link below and click on ‘Get drivers and downloads’then download the BIOS from BIOS section and chipset from chipset section onto the system and install it.

If the system still is not able detect the card reader. I would suggest you to restore the system to factory state using the steps mentioned below if the operating system is Windows 8.

Please perform the following steps to restore the system back to factory state.

1. Plug in the AC adapter.

2.  Point to the right hand corner of the screen to bring up the charms bar.

3.  Click Settings.

4.  Select ‘PC settings, In the PC settings window, select ‘General’.

5.  Once “General is selected, on the right side scroll down to click on ‘Restart Now’ under Advanced settings’

6.  In the next screen click on ‘Trouble shoot’.

7   Click theDell Backu.p and Recovery icon.

8.  The system restarts and comes back up, click ‘Next’ on the Dell Backup and Recovery Screen.

9.  The system would be checked to see if the smart repair option can fix the issue, click ‘Next’ once this is done.

10. You will be prompted to select the backup to be used, click the factory image option or select from one of the backups. Click Next.

11. You will be prompted to back up your files, if needed do so by selecting the option ‘Yes, backup my personal files’ (Make sure to have an external backup hard drive handy.) or select No, Erase my files.

12. The system goes ahead and completes the restore of the operating system. Click Restart when prompted.

13. Follow the on-screen instructions to setup the system with windows.

Note: Please backup your files before following the steps above to recovery to factory state.

If the operating system is windows 7 please refer to the link below.

Hi Manu Shandilya,

I would like you to check the webcam through Skype or any other camera software. If the webcam is not getting recognized in the Skype or webcam software, please follow the steps mentioned below for refreshing the drivers for webcam.

  1. Open ‘Device Manager’ by clicking the Start button  . In the search box, type ‘Device Manager’, and then, in the list of results, click ‘Device Manager’.
  2. When the device manager pops up, in the list please check for ‘Imaging devices’.
  3. Under ‘Imaging devices’ check if you are finding webcam.
  4. Right click on the webcam available and click on ‘Uninstall’.
  5. Do not check the box which says delete the software and click ‘OK’.
  6. Restart the system and check for issue resolution.

Please let us know if this helps.
