Changing screen resolution
Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. It has a widescreen, I believe the resolution is supposed to be 1280*768. All pictures that I see on this laptop are stretched horizontally. When I go to Control Panel -> Display and set resolution, the only option it has is a slider that goes from 1024*768 to 800*600. There is no option to go to a different aspect ratio.

Sounds like you need to load your video drivers. Was the operating system recently reinstalled?

I don't know actually, I just bought the computer used so the original owner may have reinstalled the OS before selling it. How can I load the video drivers?

Hi jacob15728
Welcome to the Dell community.
It seems that the video drivers are not installed on the system. Please log on to our support website www.support.dell.com and select drivers and downloads section. Put your system service tag in the required field and you will be able to find all your system related drivers. Download the video driver on your system and then follow the onscreen instructions to install. Restart your system and check if you can make changes to the screen resolution.
If you are unable to find the right drivers, feel free to get back to us with your system model and we ll send across the video driver link for download
Regards,
Sumer
