Christmas Present malfunctions.
So I receive a Dell Inspiron 5555 about the middle of December. Excited, I opened it up, began using it. Almost immediately I noticed that Cortana would flicker/blackout. Having poor internet at the time, I elected to do nothing and hope that when I got to updating my computer regularly the problem would work itself out.
Well. Enter almost 2 weeks ago. Decent internet, updates done. Cortana still flickers. Oh well, not to worry, I wasn't looking forward to Cortana anyway. All Right, let's get down to a little bit of solid gaming.
Warframe downloaded and installed, I began to get excited. And Then.
Screen flickers repeatedly, then blacks out with WarFrame loaded. (Not the title screen, that was fine, only once the game was loaded did my nightmare begin.) Well, lets attempt another game. Drakkensang; same problem. Another game, can't remember which, SAME Problem.
So I went to the internet (and eventually to Dell Online Troubleshooting.)
I uninstalled/reinstalled the AMD drivers, downloaded/installed new bios.
Eventually found a short term solution in Radeon settings. Then that quit working as well after about an hour.
So I contacted Dell. After multiple chats on the phone (I'm now over 15 hours,) 2 system restores, Dell has not fixed my issue.
I attempted to upload a video of the problem 3 different times (here), but each time an error has occurred and, guess what, can't upload the video.
I received a product that did not work.
Attempted to troubleshoot the issues myself.
Tech support has not only not fixed my issue, but at one point told me I needed to pay for an upgrade to my warranty in order for them to help me.
No matter whether the problem is in the software or the hardware, the problem was present in my Brand New Computer.
Balls in your court Dell. This is unacceptable. I have continued to jump through your hoops. To no avail. I am disgusted by this. There won't be another computer from Dell at this point, ever.
