Connecting an external GPU to my Dell Precision M6600

I have a dell Precision M6600 with windows 7. I am planning to get a nvidia GTX 1080, 1060, or something similar to connect and use for my computer. Would this be possible and would my dell be able to handle it? Also what connector cables would I need to buy or would they all come with the GTX 10(60or =80)?

thanks

There are adapters to change thunderbolt to hdmi or vga, yes -- for output.

The system you have doesn't have Thunderbolt input support, which is what you need to use an external GPU box.

You need  a very new system for that -- only a few of the newest Alienware models support an external GPU at present.

It's not possible with this model.

These require a Thunderbolt 3 port your system does not have.

Are you sure? Ive asked dell and they said I could do it by not actually putting it in the laptop but by using some cable to connect it.

And there is no adapter from thunderbolt 3 to hdmi or vga.
