Current Realtek Audio Driver R2.75 is buggy – Plugged headphones are not detected after computer restart

A current Realtek audio driver R2.75 (6.0.1.7246) is buggy, seems to fail to sense headphones plugged into headphone jack after computer restart. You have to replug headphones every time you restart your computer.

If you are not using headphones or external speakers plugged into this output, then you can install this driver as it works fine on all other functions, but if you would like to use headphones, then better install any other earlier Realtek version that doesn’t have this bug.

Thanks for reporting this issue. We saw the same thing earlier in the year with the Realtek 6.0.1.6788 A03  driver.

I have been unable to verify that the driver 6.0.1.7246 is one of the current drivers for the Inspiron 17R N7110 model. You can find the correct driver by going to the N7110 support page or by going to the ftp server where you can see all of the available N7110 audio drivers on one page. They are

6.0.1.6662

6.0.1.6383

6.0.1.6312

6.0.1.6267

5.10.1.6267

To check that this headphones audio loss after computer restart is really an Realtek driver issue I uninstalled latest Realtek driver (6.0.1.7246) and installed by Dell recommended Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 7 (6.0.1.6383) and can report that everything is working fine now. The problem described above is definitely a driver issue.

Because I am using headphones a lot for me is best to stick to by Dell recommended driver.
