DELL Latitude E7240 Battery #2 Not Present

When I checked the battery status window in DELL Latitude E7240, I found 2 battery,

Battery #1 it charged to 100% without any problem but Battery #2 is "not present",

Please let me know if there external battery available for this model or not? and if not, Why the battery status window showing two batteries in the settings?

Hi aabdelaal,

Thanks for the post! The ‘Battery #2’ listing in the Dell Power Management software is associated with the systems docking port and will be enabled if a battery slice is connected to the system.

While the E7240 does not currently have an external battery slice specifically designed for it, the software was developed to function across the Latitude line. Other E series battery slices (Like the 97Whr Slice: http://dell.to/1ymKFtz)  use the same docking port connection as the E7240 and can be recognized by this software / provide extra power but these are not recommended officially as the docking port location on the new systems causes a loose fit with older slices.

I’m not aware of a plan to produce a battery slice for this system.

Thanks,

Hi Shawn,

You mention the 97 Whr battery could be compatible with 7240.
But the DELL Taiwan support told me, it's not compatible,
and DELL Taiwan doesn't sell the slice battery,
so,
1. Is there a way that I get the battery from DELL Taiwan/Asia?
2. Is there a 9 cell battery or bigger than 4 cell battery for E7240?
