DVD driver not working in Inspiron 14z 5423
hi
my DVD driver can't recognize a CD which sits inside it. can anyone tell why?
just to mention, i lately did a format to my computer (software only - windows was reinstalled and all files were deleted), so maybe i got something missing?

It is possible that the CD is damaged. Check if it is scratched severely or not. Other than that you could try updating the drivers for the DVD drive.

Hi OMRYROM,
What is the current OS installed on the system?
Is the ODD recognized in Windows Explorer - does it show up as "DVD drive"?
If yes, then try a different disc and check if it reads the content. Maybe the disc in concern is bad.
If the drive is not being displayed, then check if there is an "!" mark in device manager and follow this link to resolve the issue - http://bit.ly/2jSg19X
