My girlfriend purchased this laptap early in 2015 and used it on a daily basis throughout the year. Before the warranty had expired, she ran into the exact same issue with that hinge assembly as posted by jboss0110. The only difference is that two of the anchors are still attached to the hinge assembly. After spending multiple hours on the phone with support and warranty services we got the same answer as most other users. "You must have dropped it to have caused this problem, therefore it's not covered".
I pulled the case apart and all sorts of plastic pieces fell out from the palm rest assembly. I'll see if I can fix it but if not, it will make a great target.
Needless to say, we will not be purchasing any Dell laptops again. In fact, the day after her conversation with Dell's "support" center, we went out and purchased a different laptop with a much better hinge assembly.
