Hi,

My laptop has a 1600x900 lg screen. I would like to ask if it's possible to upgrade to a full hd screen from the 17r 5737se model. And also could i upgrade to a backlit keyboard?

Thank you all!!!

Hi JIMARAS001,

Thank you for the update.

Well, if you provide me with the service tag, I can check the keyboard info for you. Or provide me with the part# of the keyboard. You can check the system configuration here - http://dell.to/1n3X2po - enter the service tag and check the original system configuration.

For the screen - yes, ideally it should be a straight swap. On the parts-people site - there is only one FHD part# available - http://bit.ly/2e9aVX7

For certain models shipped with non touch and when needed to be upgraded to the touchscreen assembly, only then the entire kit needs to be replaced - such as the lcd cable, bezel, webcam, lcd backcover and hinges along with touchscreen. However, for this model, this does not apply.

If you need help with the replacement, kindly contact our team as per link in my previous post.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Hi JIMARAS001,

Well, I checked the system configuration and yes, it was shipped with non backlit keyboard.

If you need the backlit keyboard - this is part# 0KXWP of the keyboard that you need. However, finding a Greek keyboard is quite a search. You, could however, try contacting our team - link in previous post - and check if they can procure a keyboard for you.

Alternate option, get a UK or US layout Backlit keyboard - order the Greek keyboard stickers - http://amzn.to/2dB5TBX- and paste it and change the keyboard layout in control panel to Greek.

For the LCD, the touch and non touch variants have different cables and assembly parts.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Hi JIMARAS001,

The 5737 is usually shipped with a backlit keyboard. However, if it was not ordered backlit, then:

You could contact our team to get a quote for a paid service call - http://dell.to/1vnT6CQ

If you wish to replace the parts yourself, then you could get them here as well - http://bit.ly/2bJ3beI

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Hi,

I really don't know if my keyboard is backlit.

How about the screen upgrade? Do you think it's a straight forward swap? My screen's code is JXWY4. Can it be swaped with this one?

Thank you!!!

Hi,

My service tag is<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>. I saw at the original configuration my keyboard is part number 3J8CN1 102, GREEK, C14N. That's good news for the full hd screen. I thought that it would need new wires or extra wires to work.

Thanks a lot!!!
