Dell 5558 Battery not charging
Hello,
Since the past three days I am getting an error when I start my laptop that the AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. I have had this laptop for more than a year now and this problem started 3 days ago.
The performance of the laptop is also affected and it cannot even play videos properly without hanging every 2 seconds. I tried resetting windows to factory settings but that didn't help at all.
Kindly advise a solution for this problem. I am an engineering student and I really cannot do anything without this laptop.

Hi SohaibAJ,
Please update the BIOS and chipset to the latest from the Dell support site.
Can you check with another adapter and check if you still have the issue?
Boot into BIOS and capture the status of the adapter listed.
Please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.

Hello,
It was a problem with the adapter. I went to the store from where I purchased the laptop and they told me that it was a problem with the wire of the adapter. I got a new one and now its working perfectly.
