Dell Dock fails to work now...

Several weeks ago the Dell Dock program that came with my Dell Desktop (Vista) quit working after installing MS Security Updates.. No matter what I did, I could not get it working again.. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling Dell Dock but the uninstall always failed..  Today, my Dell Inspiron 1525 (Vista) laptop installed MS Updates and now the Dell Dock program in it has failed the same as before on the desktop, with the same error indications..  Now I can uninstall the Dell Dock program nor reinstall it same as before.  What is going on...  Even trying to restore the computer to an earlier time prior to the update install fails to correct the problem...
