Dell Factory Image Restore - Dell Studio 1555 Laptop.
Hello, I purchased a laptop in December 2010 and have, for the last month, been experiencing technical issues, It is not the laptop as such but the Operating System, My windows 7 aero has disapperaed leaving me with windows 7 basic edition, I had the full version of windows 7 home premium and still see that at start up. I am wondering if it is worth backing up my entire hard drive on to a portable media hard drive and then using dell factory image restore.

Hi,
I have used dell factory image restore after backing up my system, my windows 7 aero feature is now working, and all i need to do now is re-install all my programs!

Since you said you're having technical issues, I would first backup my data.
Run the full diagnostics and report back any error messages. How to Run the Dell™ Diagnostics Utility
I would still create the Windows 7 - IMPORTANT Windows 7 Backup Disks to create
Then use the Dell DataSafe Disk to restore the computer.
