Dell Inspirion 7559 headset problem

Jump to solution

Hi.

I have an Inspirion 7559, only with a combined jack audio port. I would like to use my headset, which has 2 jack (speakers, and microphone) so I just bought an adapter like this. When I connect it, and set in Dell Audio as a "headset (with microphone)" the speakers works, but barely: only the right speaker has sound, so I have to move the jack a bit out to work fine. Furthermore, the microphone doesn't work at all, when I checking the input sound (in Teamspeak, or Steam) it only gives loud strange - static noise.

I have checked the windows audio options, there is only one recording tool which is the Realtek High Definiton Audio, but when I disconnect my headset from my computer, it is still there.

The headset and the adapter cable works fine with other computers. What can be the problem?

Hello. We have gotten a lot of reports about the adapters not working with Dell laptops. I don't know why it works with other laptops but not Dell.

Another option is to use a usb audio jack. It is a separate audio system that runs off the Windows native usb audio driver. These things are pretty inexpensive at Amazon and other retailers.

Well, thanks for your reply.

Now, I'm a little bit disappointed. The laptop works fine, and get what I paid for, except the Dell Audio which is a disaster. That's a hard compromised for my money.

I have this problem, I can deal with it and get another adapter. Furthermore it often happens, when I connect an other display (for example a TV, with HDMI) the Dell Audio can't recognize the device and switch automatically where to play the sound.

All in all, I bought Dell because I wanted quality, but it has it's own ridiculous bugs like other cheaper brands.
