Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI freezing

Recently bought a model 7567 and paired it with an external monitor via HDMI. All my drivers are up to date. Ever since pairing the both, every few minutes, the laptop and external monitor both freeze for about a minute, then both screens flicker and return to normal operation.

This only happens when I use HDMI output. If I'm using the laptop alone, it works perfectly. I should note that this only happens when browsing webpages or small tasks, and not when gaming. I have ran full system hardware diagnostics and found no problems.

Any help would be nice, as it is becoming a pain to use. Thanks!

Hi v-sookz,

Thanks for posting.

Your post indicates you have run a full system hardware diagnostics.  Were you also able to run the Dell Support Assist?  http://dell.to/2yzjeF9

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

If there is still no improvement, you may want to try contacting Tech Support.  You can contact Tech Support at 1-800-624-9896 or 1-800-288-4410, or you can initiate a chat session http://dell.to/2v4snVm

RE: Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 HDMI freezing

Hi Robert,

I have tried another hdmi cable with no changes. I am currently using the laptop without any external monitors. I did run another full system diagnostic and found:

PCI Express Status Test failed - Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3 - 1200/1500 v5/6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901

and also the tests on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 'could not be run'.

I'm beginning to think my laptop may have a hardware issue.
