Dell Inspiron 1525 malfunction
I've had my laptop a little under six months and I've found a problem with it - For some unfathomable reason it randomly shuts down no matter what I'm doing and whenever I try to run MacAffee full virus scan, it'll always shut down after reaching two percent but not before reaching a high temperature first. Thinking it might have been a virus, I restored the laptop to it's factory settings; wiping the entire system. After booting up again, I reinstalled MacAffee and yet I am still facing the same problem. Does anyone know why this is happening and can anyone help?

It sounds like a hardware issue. Maybe your cooling fan is deffective or the heatsink is loose.
Fortunately, your laptop is still under warranty.

I have an Inspiron 1525 and I probably got it maybe 6 months ago too. They keyboard seemed off from the start and it eventually popped some keys and so that was my first issue. I've already had to have the keyboard replaced [or more accurately I had to be the one to replace the faulty keyboard] and I'm actually seeing similar issues with the second keyboard. But hearing your post I'm really getting concerned about how often and how hard my fan is starting to run lately.
I'd think that restoring after you wiped the thing would rule out a virus or even software issues. It sounds to me like a hardware problem but I don't know for sure. I uninstalled McAffee the first day and I use AVG so I am not sure about that part either. And I've not changed much of anything really. I just know the thing isn't right and Dell doesn't seem to care one way or another. In addition to the fan going nuclear on me and the keyboard falling apart twice it's sometimes sluggish enough while I'm typing that I'm finished with a sentence and it's plodding along with a letter or two. I'm about to give up on it entirely.
I absolutely expect that this machine will have another issue and it will eventually just blow up or something. I chose the Espresso Brown model initially. But now I'm feeling like I should have chosen something in a nice bright yellow. [More fitting for a lemon.]

So, are these Inspiron 1525's all a piece of junk??? I've had mine a little over a year - the first 8 months it crashed no less than 5 times. I think I actually know all the techs in India by first name. They finally sent me a new hard drive to install and walked me through that. Now, I have keyboard issues as well - my cursor jumps at random into other areas of my text while I'm trying to type. Talk about frustrating! It's been suggested that I attach an external keyboard and see if it works OK - result will mean I need a new keyboard. I've really hardly used the 1525 because of it's problems.
I do like your idea of the color yellow, though - very fitting!!! Too bad we can't get our money back and buy something reliable!!
