Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 crashing problem

Every so often my laptop just randomly crashes and makes a loud jamming sound if I was listening to something at the moment. The screen flashes with all different colors and horizontal bars and I'm forced to restart. I don't know what causes it but it's been happening a lot recently. Any suggestions?
