Dell Inspiron 3542 shutdowns abruptly when moved or when display tilted
Hello,
I have Dell Inspiron 3542 which is close 2 years old. It was working fine but since 2 months it started shutting down abruptly when the display is tilted or the laptop is moved. This issue has become more frequent from the past 2 days. I did Dell Diagnostic check which showed a message saying the battery is not installed even though the battery was in place.
I also saw the laptop juggling between battery and AC power when it is on. I see "Battery Not detected" message in the system tray when switched to AC power.
I suspect this might be a loose connection between the battery terminals and the motherboard. So can anyone confirm this and let me know if we can fix it in home?

Hi dsagar3409,
Thank you for writing to Dell Community Forum.
Please check for any damages between the connectors of the battery and motherboard.
Also, do you have access to another battery that you can try on this system or another system that you can try this battery on?
