Dell Inspiron 6400 with Vista Home Premium.
Hi,
Daughter has the above machine with 1gb of ram. Can anyone tell me if the memory can be increased, and if so what memory does it take. Thanks.

Martin,
A check at www.crucial.com reveals the following: "Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot." Most likely your daughter has 512MB in each slot to reach 1GB. To reach the max of 2GB will need to purchase two 1GB sticks. Crucial.com has them for $12 each! Good luck!

The E1505 will take 4gb.Dell only has it listed as 2gb.
