Dell Inspiron 7577 2.5 inch SSD cannot be detected
I recently purchased a DELL inspiron 7577 laptop. However, when I plug in a 2.5" crucial MX100 512GB ssd, this ssd can be seen from BIOS, but cannot be detected in windows 10 installer, or USB-booted winpe. More weird, 2.5" HDD(HSGT 500GB 7200rpm HDD) can be detected by both BIOS and win10 installer. P.S. I have updated the BIOS to 1.2.0. Can someone from DELL help me? Thanks!

I also purchased the Dell Inspiron 7577 and tried to install a 2.5" Crucial M500 960GB drive and Windows 10 does not detect it.
I have tried both ACHI and RAID modes in the BIOS. The BIOS detects the drive as well as a USB Booted Gpart stick. I have tried formatting the drive with GPT for UEFI; windows still does not detect the drive. Updated the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers. BIOS is updated to latest 1.2.0. I also tried a regular HDD and it was detected with no issue.
There have been other threads I have seen with similar issues but yet no resolution. I've been trying for weeks now; I hope someone from DELL can help. Thanks.

Someone in DELL, can you help? Hopefully, an update in BIOS can work. Thanks!

I thought someone in another thread stated the new Bios did allow for detection of a 2.5" SATA drive.
It was released 21 Dec., 1.3.2 but I have no knowledge myself.

Not on mine. It will show and sometimes not show in BIOS and I have the latest 1.3.2, but NEVER shows up in Windows or the Windows installer.
