Hi everyone!
I want to ask you ...which one CPU i can put to my Laptop .Dell Inspiron M5010
Now it's:
Athlon II P340 Dual core
Chipset AMD 785GX
Southbridge AMD SB850.
I want put now Phenom II 3 or 4 cores.....which one exactly fit?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Dell did ship these with Phenom II-X4 CPUs, so most of the Socket S1-G4 CPUs should work. Stick to models with identical or similar power requirements - installing a CPU that requires more power than the original, is an invitation to system instability.
Hi,
Please tell us about other configuration of your laptop ( RAM+GRAPHIC CARD)
CPU: AMD ATHLON II P340
RAM; 2x 2GB DDR3 PC3-10700 Dual Channel
GPU: ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD4650 RV730
MB: DELL 08KT6J A12
Chipset: AMD 785GX
Southbridge:AMD SB850
Bios:A12

Thanks!
I have one more question...now CPU have 25w if i put 35w is it ok?
The Dell inspiron m5010 has very good cooling so ht 35 watt won't be a problem.
Remember though it will drain your battery a little faster when it is taxed I ie. when video gaming.
I just upgraded my ram ( by the way this system will handle more than 8 gigs) and also upgraded to an ssd drive.
I am currently researching processors but may decide on a motherboard upgrade first.
Hi EJN63,
I don't work much with AMD laptops. but I have an M5010 with 7beep. Because I'm trying to rule out the mainboard itself of failure I bought the dirt cheapest S1G4 processor I could find. It's a Turion II Dual Core Mobile P560. THE POWER DIFFERENCE between this one and the original Phenom that came with it is 10W where the Turion is a 25W TDP and the Phenom is 35W. I don't suspect this will cause problems but you appear to understand AMD processors better than I do so I thought it worth checking. Thanks, Nathan
Can I use this processor N930 at this motherboard? It 35W too
