Dell Inspiron M5030

I have contacted Dell. They will not fix the computer even though they are aware that there is a major problem with this particular laptop. They offered to fix it for $269. I only paid $329 for it when I bought it. Why would I spend that kind of money on a piece of junk?  Does anyone have any suggestions for a good brand of laptop that is not too expensive?  I use mine for home use...emails, bill paying, shopping, researching different topics, etc.  I would appreciate any feedback.  Thans & God bless!
