Dell Inspiron N5010

I am sorry if this is an old issue and there is a resolution for it. I have a Dell Inspiron 15R (N5010) about 3 year old, last couple of month I noticed with the battery inserted, the power adapter indicator light goes out when trying to connect power jack to laptop. Work fine without the battery inserted. Laptop runs OK with battery or power adapter individually, but not together, shorten the power adapter.

I thought I had a bad battery, tried a brand new genuine battery, still same result. Is it the system board or power module (board). The battery connector on the system board looks good, not bent. Power adapter works on an similar unit just fine.
