RE: Dell Inspiron N5110 Heat Sink

Hi walterskingsley,

Welcome to Dell community.

Yes, the heat sink is made of aluminium.

The Link will show you how to install and replace the Heatsink Fan on your Inspiron 15R N5110 laptop. These installation instructions have be made into 14 easy to follow printable steps. We have also create a video tutorial that shows you how to install your Inspiron 15R N5110 Heatsink Fan.

You should try cleaning the Heat-sink and fan and replace thermal paste and thermal pads. You should clean remains of old paste and pads very carefully with alcohol and install new. You can use any good quality non electrically conductive thermal paste and you can replace thermal pads with K5-PRO specially designed thermal paste that you can find here

Please reply in case you have any questions.
