Dell Latitude D620 Ethernet Issue

Hi everyone!

I am having an issue with my Broadcom NetExtreme 57xx Ethernet Controller on Dell Latitude D620.
Suddenly when working in Windows XP I got network disconnected alert. I noticed RJ45 lights no longer blinks. I
* restarted Windows
* checked cable (it works flawlessly with different laptop)
* still switched cable
* checked with different router
* tried disabling/enabling device
* tried disabling/enabling TCP/IP stack
* created bootable USB stick with Ubuntu and booted to Linux
all to no avail.
However at one point when again in Windows I noticed it started working (and blinking) again. Basically now it seems it works after connecting/disconnecting cable random number of times (sometimes after a minute and other time after 20 minutes of connecting/disconnecting) and that's independent of OS - both in Windows and Linux.
In Windows event log I see following entries:
Warning: Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller: The network link is down.  Check to make sure the network cable is properly connected.
Error: FW1: FW-1: last packet seen 1579 seconds ago, assumin-->
Error: FW1: -->g clock change.
and finally
Information: Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller: Network controller configured for 100Mb full-duplex link.
when it works.
When connection fails on Linux I see in logs following:
* network-logs-failure1
or
* network-logs-failure2
and when succeeds:
* network-logs-success

Is it hardware issue?
Can anything be done to fix it?

I see no update so far. I got different question then. Assuming it is a hardware issue I found quite good offer on LAN/USB module for Dell D630. Could someone possibly know if those modules could be interchangeable between D620 and D630 laptops?
