Dell Latitude e6420 ALPS Touchpad on Windows 10
Hello.
I've just updated my e6420 to Windows 10, and I have a problem with the ALPS touchpad.
If no driver for it is installed, Windows see it as a PS/2 Mouse, and the touchpad works (no multitouch, no gestures and no configuration, but works as a simple mouse). As soon as I install the Dell driver (shown as version 8.1206.101.118), it's recognized as a Dell Touchpad and I got all the configuration options, but it stops working. Most of the time I can't move the cursor with the touchpad, and when it moves, it moves erratically. When I uninstall the driver and it comes back to 'PS/2 Mouse', then the touchpad works again.
I've tried some updated drivers I've found (10.1207.101.102), and some older (8.1200.101.127) but the results are always the same.
Do you know if there are some drivers that works?

Hi,
I would ask you to try these steps and advise the result,
*Uninstall the existing driver from device manager.
*Then using compatibility mode install the relevant drivers.
*Click here to go to compatibility mode. Then install the same drivers again.
Also do send the service tag of the system and confirm as to how the windows 10 was installed on the system.

Thanks!! Using compatibility mode it works. I've installed version 8.1200.101.127 and it works fine... well, it's not the better touchpad but it does the work.

PS: the service tag is<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> and Windows 10 Pro 64bits was installed on a clean new SSD disk using an usb stick created from Microsoft's media creation tool.
