Dell N5010 Graphic Driver Crashing.

Hi All,

I have dell n5010 laptop, for the last two weeks I am getting blue screen due to display driver crashing. I tried to install fresh windows 7 copy and driver from dell but nothing solved the problem. Now when I am running windows in normal mode(Aero theme) I cannot see anything except line and square block on the screen. I have changed the thermal compound of gpu and cpu also but still that is getting heated.

Note: when I ran the diagnostic mode, everything looks ok except DST Hard Drive Test failed.

Soon I will upload the screen shot of images.

Please help If anyone has observed the same situation earlier.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please send us the image of the bluescreen and also the error code  (usually begins with 2000 ) during diagnostics.

How about in safe mode??

Hi,

In safe mode also the display is same as in the screenshots.

I am getting blue screen stating  atikmdag.sys  crashed.

Note: I already have the latest Bios and drivers updates which are available on drivers and download page.

Thanks,

Abhishek

Is this problem can occur because of faulty hdd also?

Hi,

The chances are very slim of HD causing this issue, but keeping in mind the 0146 error, you can first get the HD replaced as its a low cost commodity .

We see the machine is out of warranty.

Hi

The culprit is not the HD, but the motherboard.
