Dell Quickset stopped working

After installing latest bios (Dell Inspiron 5459/5559/5759 SKL System BIOS 1.2.4) released 23/09/2016 my Quickset software has stopped working and when trying to uninstall or repair it I am getting an error message "Your computer's BIOS is outdated. Please upgrade to the latest version of BIOS." My laptop is Inspiron 5559 and latest updates and drivers are installed, everything is up to date.

Hi gazzyb28,

I’d advise that you load defaults in the BIOS. Please follow the steps mentioned below to load the BIOS to defaults.

  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. When prompted during POST, press the key to enter the setup screen.
  3. On the System Setup screen, press the button.
  4. Press the Apply button and exit to restart the computer.

Also, please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then re-download the Dell Quickset application from Application section onto the system and install it.

Please let me know if this helps.
